Overview

Summary: Responsible for timely recruitment, screening and enrollment of qualified subjects for ongoing research studies and for supporting recruitment-related administrative and media activities. Performs duties in accordance with company’s values, policies and procedures.

 

This is a part-time position.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned at the Company’s sole discretion. 

  • Collaborates with Subject Recruitment Supervisor on department specific objectives and structure, department procedural documentation, and tools for recruitment activities. 
  • In coordination with Recruitment Media Coordinator, reviews advertising materials for IRB submission. 
  • Speaks professionally to potential subjects to obtain data and detailed medical history information and inputs into Volunteer Database (VDB). Explains studies and procedures and determines study eligibility based on inclusion and exclusion criteria. 
  • Perform study specific queries from VDB. Schedule screening appointments for pre-qualified study subjects. Track all study related recruiting activity. Ensures that recruitment plan milestones are achieved and communicates with Supervisor regarding status and needed modifications. 
  • Participate in database revisions and maintenance planning and implementation. 
  • Supports staff and management with recruitment ideas and participates in the development and implementation of study and site specific recruiting materials and branding activities.                                                                                          
  • Plan and participate in community outreach programs (health fairs, interactions with local professionals and community advocacy and service groups). 

Qualifications

Qualifications:

Education/Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months health industry related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

Language Ability:

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to potential subjects, managers and other employees of the organization. Bilingual in Spanish/English required.

 

Math Ability:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

 

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

 

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of MS Office 97 word processing software; spreadsheet software and database software, and knowledge of media and graphics programs.
